Parents of young children might be very intimate with the ear aches, ear infection, and center ear liquid develop that can torment their little ones, said Dr. David Greene MD. During ear infections and problems, ear tubes are the best treatment but it not probably sure which children do need those ear tubes or which not.

Every child has a different problem and we can't use ear tubes for every child and Doctor David Greene has shared the situations when a kid really need ear tubes to get rid of infections.

Who Should Get Ear Tubes?  Ear Tubes are helpful with the ear infections for 6-12 years old children. According to David Greene MD, the children whose ear infection is severe and hold on to fluid and it is not easy to clear up the infections quickly, are the most suitable candidates for ear tubes. Also, the tubes should not be given to children who have a frequent ear infection but fluids don't build up.

Ear tubes are unique and significant thing being recommended by the experts for the children who hold on to fluid but is not for the one whose infection is clear up completely.

Parents should ask doctor if their child's ear contains fluid or if they don't, ear tubes should be avoided.

How Ear Tubes Work: The small tube of about 1/20th of an inch is placed at the end of ear's canal. The tubes are designed to relieve any fluid build-up by allowing the air to pass into the child's ear to ventilate and reduce the pressure inside that place.

Kids using ear tubes are eligible to play in the water, swim without wearing earplugs, said Dr. David Greene. The tubes are built under the common-sense that water can get into the tube but water can't pass simply inside small hole easily.
